Date and walnut cake


  • Flour:- 115 gm
  • Sugar:- 115 gm
  • Eggs:- 2 no
  • Fat:- 85 gm
  • Baking Powder:- 1/4 tsp
  • Dates:- 200 gm
  • Walnut:- 50 gm
  • Soda Bi carb:- 1/4 tsp
  • Hot water:- 50 ml
  1. cream fat with flour till it comes to a creamy texture along with baking powder.
  2. Dip the dates in hot water so as to extract maximum flavor. Now crush the walnuts.
  3. Beat eggs along with sugar till the time that sugar is completely dissolved and forms a ribbon consistency.
  4. Mix beaten egg into the flour and fat mixture.
  5. Mash the dates and water mixture and then add to cake tin.
  6. Add finely chopped walnuts.
  7. Bake at temperature of 350-375 F for 40 -45 minutes.
  8. Garnish with broken walnut before baking.

Mmmmmmm. Now I have to have a good cup of coffee with that. A good fair trade organic coffee is Kaffe Magnum Opus, or KMO for short. Awsome coffee!

Funny, I was just about to comment the same as above.
We made this earlier and just tasted the wonderful dates in the mixture,they were organic and gave evn more of themselves in the cake.
Washed down with our favorite espresso coffee, velluto nero.
