Genoise Sponge


A delicate buttery sponge cake is known as the genoise sponge cake. This rich, light cake is made with flour, sugar, eggs, butter and vanilla. It's similar in texture to a moist sponge cake. It was developed in Genoa, Italy, adapted by the French and is now baked by gourmet cooks throughout Europe and the United States. GĂ©noise is an extremely versatile cake and is used for many elegant presentations such as petits fours cake rolls and baked alaska.

INGREDIENTS:-(4 portions)
  • Refined Flour 85gm
  • Sugar 85gm
  • Egg 3 no
  • Vanilla Essence 1/2 tsp
  • Refined oil 30ml
  • Butter Paper 1/2 sheet
PROCEDURE:-
  1. Beat the egg in a double boiler with sugar till creamy texture is obtained. add vanilla essence while beating so that it mixes well.
  2. Add refined flour little by little & mix with palate knife using cut & fold method.
  3. add refined oil and prepare the batter by properly folding the mixture.
  4. Bake it at 425f for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. After baking cool it for some time and serve.
you may use different kinds of garnishes to decorate the cake as i have used strawberry. you may also use cherry for the purpose.
